Scientific Data Management Plan - CEA template (EN) CEA Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives Institution
Data management plans (DMP) produced using the OPIDoR tool are stored on servers outside the CEA. This tool may not be adapted to the DMPs of projects containing confidential data.

Choice of the data management plan model to be made according to the research project
  • ANR project: you can use the ANR model
  • H2020: you can use the H2020 model or the CEA model which is H2020 compatible
  • Horizon Europe : ou can use the Horizon Europe model or the CEA model which is  compatible
  • CEA project, or any other project: you can use the CEA model

"Mandatory fields" at the end of the project

All fields with an asterisk* should be filled to respect the H2020 projects requirements.

All fields in bold are needed at the end of the project for the archiving and the data reuse.

The other fields are indicative. You can even add some new ones according to the needs of the project.

The first version of the DMP does not need to give exhaustive answers for all items. It will be completed during the project.

The CNRS provides a model CNRS Data Management Plan (DMP CNRS) for scientific communities. This is based on the Science Europe model and includes recommendations that are in accordance with CNRS policy on research data.

This document applies to the full duration of your research project as it develops and is therefore not intended to be completed in full by researchers at the start of their projects. Above all it provides a guide to help researchers take into account the issues involved in sharing data, applying best practices and anticipating future actions to be taken.

Writing guides, tools, services, reference documents, educational resources and help desks are provided to accompany, inform and guide researchers in writing their DMPs throughout their research projects.

This model also includes recommendations by the CNRS Data Protection Office (SPD) displayed in the form of 'labels'. These are intended to encourage the compliant management of sensitive/personal data.

If you have any questions about the CNRS Data Management Plan, please contact:

PGD CNRS CNRS Institution

Horizon 2020 FAIR DMP (anglais) Commission européenne Financeur

The Commission is running a flexible pilot under Horizon 2020 called the Open Research Data Pilot (ORD pilot).

Projects participating in the pilot must submit a first version of the DMP (as a deliverable) within the first 6 months of the project. The DMP needs to be updated over the course of the project whenever significant changes arise.

The European commission provides a DMP template, the use of which is recommended but not mandatory. That template has been translated by the Inist-CNRS and is available in DMP OPIDoR

Further details are provided in the Guidelines on FAIR Data Management in Horizon 2020 (v.3, 26 July 2016).

Horizon 2020 DMP Commission européenne Financeur

In Horizon 2020 a limited pilot action on open access to research data will be implemented. Projects participating in the Open Research Data Pilot will be required to develop a Data Management Plan (DMP), in which they will specify what data will be open. Other projects are invited to submit a Data Management Plan if relevant for their planned research.

The DMP is not a fixed document; it evolves and gains more precision and substance during the lifespan of the project. The first version of the DMP is expected to be delivered within the first 6 months of the project. More elaborated versions of the DMP can be delivered at later stages of the project. The DMP would need to be updated at least by the mid-term and final review to fine-tune it to the data generated and the uses identified by the consortium since not all data or potential uses are clear from the start.

The templates provided for each phase are based on the annexes provided in Guidelines on Data Management in Horizon 2020

The Horizon Europe Model Grant Agreement requires that a data management plan (‘DMP’) is established and regularly updated. The use of this template is recommended for Horizon Europe beneficiaries. In completing the sections of the template the requirements for research data management of Horizon Europe as described in article 17 and analysed in the Annotated Grant Agreement, article 17, must be addressed.
